Nurse Practitioner

Janell Stark is a dedicated and compassionate family nurse practitioner with an impressive career at Southern Brain & Spine, where she has been an integral part of the medical team since 2007. Janell graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1994. Her extensive nursing experience has allowed Janell to incorporate her highly skilled, holistic nursing care for the surgical and nonsurgical needs of her patients.

Her prior employment as a college health nurse at Tulane University enhanced her knowledge in medical and primary care management, inspiring her to pursue an advanced degree from Loyola University. Janell’s passion and focus has been with Neurosurgery and Interventional Pain Management at Southern Brain & Spine.

Janell also achieved certification with the Nursing Institute of First Assisting, affording her the ability and training to first assist during surgery and being an integral part of our neurosurgical team. She is also highly involved in the presurgical and postsurgical care of her patients, focusing on educating patients so that they may better understand their condition and treatment plan. Janell is also very knowledgeable in the latest advancements in interventional injection techniques.

Having grown up in Metairie, Janell enjoys the connection she has to the New Orleans region. Janell’s commitment to all of her patients for their surgical and pain management needs is immeasurable to both the community and Southern Brain & Spine.
